Dog Walking at Styx Mill

Entrances from Hussey Road and Styx Mill Road.

The Styx Mill Reserve Dog Park is a huge fenced area, nestled within the reserve. It can be accessed by a long driveway off Hussey Road, just before the residential area. There is a winding track through the trees, a circuit that takes 10 – 15 minutes, depending on the amount of friendly pet parents you stop to talk to. This park is a hidden treasure for dog owners where doggies of all sizes can romp and play together, enjoying each other’s company in the peaceful surrounds.

There is a fenced pond for swimming, but here are warnings about algae in the pond which affects the water quality. Plenty of doggies do swim in there, so it’s up to pet owner to decide if their dogs should swim. I tend to err on the side of caution so don’t let doggies swim there.

The park closes at 7.30pm daily or 5.30pm in winter.

The Panako Walkway

The Panako Walkway is a beautiful, peaceful walk that follows the river and meets up with the Hussey View Walkway to complete a round trip. Dogs must remain on a short leash at all times so as not to disturb the wildlife.
