We collect information from you when you register with VIPets Ltd either as a pet owner or a pet sitter. This information includes personally identifiable information such as you and your spouse/partner’s full name, email address, phone number, physical address and the contact information of emergency contacts.
When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter the above information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.
How do we protect this information?
While no information stored online can be guaranteed to be 100% safe, we do our very best to ensure your personal information is as secure as possible. Our client portal uses the same encryption as the banks and the apps we use to run our business are installed on iPhones that use either fingerprint scanning or facial recognition software to access. We take all reasonable steps to to prevent the access, misuse or theft of this information. However we cannot be held responsible in the unlikely event of a breach due to the actions or omissions of the third party providers we work with.
What do we use your information for?
This information is used to provide clients with pet care services and in the day to day running of our business. We use this information specifically:
For pet owners:
- to let you know about our services,
- to provide to pet sitters via the submission of your pet owner profile (only includes first name and suburb),
- to arrange pet care services for your pets,
- to send you updates about visits or walks,
- to arrange meetings with you and your pets.
For pet sitters:
- to conduct background checks,
- to provide to pet owners via the submission of your pet sitting profile (only includes first name, email and phone number),
- to contact you in respect to suitable house sitting assignments.
If you decide to opt-in to our mailing list, you will receive emails that may include news and updates. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, simply click the link at the bottom and you will be immediately unsubscribed.
