Easy recipe for homemade dog treats using leftover juicer pulp.
Recipe type: Dog Treats
Cuisine: Doginese
Serves: 72 teaspoon size treats
  • 1 cup apple and pear juice pulp
  • 6 small, ripe bananas
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup freshly ground flax seed
  • 4 tablespoons coconut oil
  1. Preheat your oven to 150° Celsius.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in 2 large baking trays.
  3. Core your apples and pears taking great care to remove all the seeds as apple seeds contain small amounts of arsenic and can be harmful to dogs.
  4. Juice apples and pears and retain the juice.
  5. Grind up the flax seeds in a high speed blender or Nutribullet. Seeds are best ground just prior to use so they are not exposed to the air for too long.
  6. Mash bananas in a bowl and add pulp, oats and ground flax seeds.
  7. Spoon teaspoon size treats onto a baking tray containing melted coconut oil. Spray or baste with coconut oil.
  8. Bake them for 25 - 30 minutes or until golden brown.
